The company claims in big letters on their home page that data is "safely stored". I asked several times if they found the error, but according to them they they never did. As a solution they offered to delete my entire account and that I re-upload the data to their servers, plus one year without billing for the backup service. I needed to restore some files from their service, and after downloading I discovered that seemingly random files had erroneously a size of 0 bytes. I lost lots of family photos because of this. Jottacloud actually corrupted 26 000 files in my backup set. I'd advise you not to gamble the safety of your data on this company. In these abovementioned cases, we reserve the right to offer an alternative Jottacloud subscription, cancel the subscription, or in some cases delete the user account and/or user data." Beware that the notice they give once they decide you've made "too much" use of their "unlimited" offer, may not be long enough for you to recover your data from their hands before they delete it. If a user’s total storage and network usage greatly exceeds the normal usage of an average Jottacloud user, and/or indicates that the Service is being uses for other than normal individual and non-commercial use, this may be deemed as abuse of the Service. Taken from their TOS: "We reserve the right to limit excessive use and abuse of the Service. According to their terms of service it's only possible for a user to use unlimited storage space if the average user uses unlimited storage space, which is an absurd reality and (surely) Jottacloud knows that. Their use of "Unlimited" is a marketing lie. In conclusion, the company's disregard for customer service is unacceptable, and I urge them to reconsider their approach to customer care for the sake of their long-term success.ĭo not believe their abuse of the word "Unlimited" I strongly advise potential users to consider alternatives such as Dropbox or Google, which prioritize customer satisfaction and provide superior services. Ultimately, businesses can only sustain themselves by prioritizing the needs and requirements of their customers. The company appears to prioritize their policies over customer satisfaction, which is a flawed approach in the long term. It is concerning to note that despite the company's revenue of 77 million NOK in 2021 and additional investments, customer service remains a neglected aspect of their operations. However, despite the credit, the company refused to reimburse the amount. Consequently, I was left with no other option but to downgrade my account, which oddly reflected a credit. While I offered to pay for a single month and receive the balance paid back, my request was declined on the basis of company policy. Upon contacting the company through multiple emails, I was disappointed to receive repetitive responses citing company policy, rather than addressing my concerns. I attempted to cancel my subscription, but unfortunately missed the deadline by one day, and consequently, the company automatically withdrew 990kr from my account through Vipps subscription. Despite my 1-year subscription, I found the services to be inadequate for my work and personal needs, resulting in infrequent use. The service provided by the company in question exhibited a profound lack of professionalism and customer care. The Importance of Prioritizing Customer Service in Business Operations
